ULMA Packaging purchases IPS Dairypack company

With this purchase, ULMA increases its packaging solutions offer to the dairy industry

ULMA Packaging has signed an agreement to purchase the IPS Dairypack company. The agreement between ULMA Packaging and IPS Dairypack was signed the 25th of February 2009, in Oñati.

With headquarters in Rioja, IPS designs and manufactures packing-fillers machines, aimend primarily for the dairy sector but includes a large range of viscous products range like jams, jelllies, dairy desserts and similars. Today, IPS competes with the top ten companies in its field, word wide. In Spain, IPS are leaders in this type of technology. With this purchase, ULMA has extended the range of thermoforming and traysealing machines to the market.

IPS was founded in December of 2002 and started actively trading in March of 2003. By 2004, IPS developed the first models of thermoforming and traysealing machines, incorporating the latest technologies. In 2005 IPS completed their range by introducing an entry level thermoforming  model designed for customers with lower production capacities.

In the last five years of existence, IPS Dairy Pack has managed an annual growth of 25%, with 60% of the machines produced, sold to the export market.

Customized solutions for each customer

Since the beginning, IPS’s has aimed at continually improving technology. IPS has used the best R&D technology available to design and manufacture the best individual packaging solution, offering high performance at the lowest costs possible. The objective is to offer a solution based design, unique for each customer.

IPS manufactures, automatically filling lines of fresh product to suit production capacities from 5,000 to 50,000 packs per offering different types of dosing and package decoration.

ULMA reinforces its position in market

According to the specialized magazine Alimarket, ULMA Packaging is the leader in Spain in 2008 in packaging machinery and it has sucesfully extended its catalogue of thermoforming and traysealeing machines with the purchase of IPS. With this acquisition ULMA completes its offer for the dairy industry and consolidates its position in the market.
