Discover the packaging solutions that drive efficiency and sustainability at Fruit Logistica 2026.
In a context where environmental regulations are decisively shaping the evolution of the packaging market, particularly regarding material selection and responsible waste management, ULMA Packaging is committed to providing solutions that help our customers meet these challenges effectively.
That’s why we develop equipment designed to operate with a wide range of sustainable materials, from recyclable films to options compatible with paper recycling streams. This versatility enables progress toward more environmentally friendly packaging models without compromising line efficiency or productivity.
Trayless Flow Pack packaging for celery
At Fruit Logistica 2026, we will showcase the SIENNA LS BI, a Flow Pack solution that has become one of the most effective and versatile options for packaging fresh produce. During the trade fair, we will demonstrate a celery packaging application using BOPP film, a fully recyclable monomaterial.

The resulting packaging offers excellent product protection, preserving freshness and preventing damage during handling. Packaging with BOPP film delivers a shiny, uniform finish and can be combined with printed film, making it visually appealing and enhancing its presentation at the point of sale. Moreover, its monomaterial composition facilitates recyclability and simplifies post-consumer waste management, an increasingly valued aspect for producers, distributors, and consumers alike.
The SIENNA LS BI stands out particularly for its operational flexibility, a key feature that allows it to handle a wide variety of fresh produce, from celery to different formats of fruits and vegetables, without the need for complex adjustments. Its electronic control system enables quick parameter settings, such as bag length, temperature, and speed, ensuring a stable and consistent production flow regardless of the product being processed. In addition, its stainless steel construction, easy access for cleaning, and design focused on maximum reliability make it an ideal machine for packaging lines that demand frequent product changeovers and continuous operation.
100% Recyclable Flow Pack Packaging for Conference Pears in Cardboard Trays with Paper Film and a Mesh Window.
As a demonstration of the versatility of our equipment and our commitment to sustainability, at this edition of Fruit Logistica we will present a 100% recyclable fruit packaging solution: Conference Pears packed in a cardboard tray using a paper film with a mesh window, processed on our FR 200 Flow Pack wrapper.

Over the years and through countless installations, the FR 200 has proven to be an ideal Flow Pack solution for fresh produce packaging. Its compact design allows for easy integration into existing lines without compromising high production performance. Thanks to its flexibility, it is perfectly suited for packaging fruits and vegetables, with or without a tray. Additionally, it is compatible with sustainable films, whether recyclable, compostable, or paper-based, enabling adaptation to future packaging requirements.
As a key innovation this year, the FR 200 will feature the new Flex Set system, a solution developed to simplify the adjustment of the sealing jaws for materials of varying thicknesses. What was once a mechanical task requiring skilled personnel is now a quick, user-friendly process that can be easily managed directly from the machine itself. With Flex Set, product changeovers and format adjustments are carried out more efficiently, reducing downtime and increasing the operational availability of the line.
Fruit and vegetable packaging in recyclable cardboard trays
For Traysealing, we will showcase a solution for fruit packaging in recyclable cardboard trays sealed with compostable film (cellulose), carried out on our TSA 680 P tray sealer.

Thanks to this application, we are able to optimise material usage in the packaging of heat-sealed products, resulting in a significant reduction in plastic without compromising the protection or functionality of the packaging. Another step forward in ULMA Packaging's commitment to providing more efficient and sustainable solutions.
Our TSA 680 P tray sealer, designed to meet the demands of the fruit and vegetable sector, stands out for its high performance (with a capacity of up to 150 trays per minute, depending on the type and size of the tray) and its versatility in material usage. It can operate with RPET, cardboard, or compostable trays, as well as recyclable top films, allowing producers to comply with sustainability regulations without sacrificing efficiency.
Vertical Packaging of Citrus Fruits in 100% Recyclable Paper Bags.
At Fruit Logistica 2026, we will also present a citrus packaging solution using a paper bag with a window, fully compatible with paper recycling streams. This packaging is designed to deliver a premium presentation, appealing to today’s conscious and discerning consumers.

The application on the VTC 840 highlights the versatility of our solutions: the machine operates with plant-based or paper-based materials while maintaining stability and q. This enables customers to adapt to evolving market demands, both in terms of sustainable materials and retail-driven packaging formats, without compromising operational efficiency or package quality.
Thanks to its robust design and the precision of its forming and sealing system, the VTC 840 stands out as the ideal choice for producers looking to integrate paper and natural materials into their packaging lines without sacrificing performance.
Smart equipment for the fresh produce sector
In this edition, we are presenting significant technological advancements applied to our packaging equipment, aimed at providing our customers with greater process control, more efficient resource management, and advanced connectivity with their production systems.
1. Consumption measurement system: full real-time visibility

We have integrated a system that enables real-time monitoring of air, gas, electricity, and film consumption on our packaging equipment. This information can be viewed by shift, production order, or film reference, making data comparison and analysis easier. Thanks to this functionality, users can determine the actual supply cost per tray, allowing them to optimise resources, reduce costs, and improve the energy efficiency of their facilities.
2. Centralised recipe management: efficiency and in-line coordination

Our equipment features a system that allows centralised management of packaging line recipes, automatically adjusting the settings of all machines based on the selected recipe. This functionality streamlines recipe changes and eliminates human error. Recipe selection can be performed manually, via a barcode reader, or automatically through integration with an ERP or SCADA system.
3. Automatic reporting system: key information, where and when you need it

Finally, we have integrated a new system that allows automatic generation of PDF reports with key information on equipment performance (OEE), consumption, and traceability. Reports can be configured by order, shift, or workday, stored on the machine (up to 1,000 records), and automatically sent to the customer's FTP server or to MyULMA, making it easier to analyse and access the information remotely.
