We design packaging solutions for every medical and pharmaceutical product
When it comes to packaging medical and pharmaceutical products, every application presents different requirements. Product characteristics, packaging materials, sterilisation processes, traceability and the way the package is opened all influence the final solution.
This is why the success of a product depends on packaging that not only protects it, but also supports a validated packaging process. At ULMA Packaging, we do not start with a standard solution, but with the specific requirements of each product and process.
Package integrity (seal integrity, barrier properties, etc.), traceability (identification, legibility, etc.), functionality (co-design, etc.), process control (validation of critical processes, parameter setting, etc.) and compliance with applicable regulations and conformity requirements are all critical aspects that we address from the very outset of each packaging solution.
Our experience across different packaging technologies enables us to develop reliable and reproducible solutions for a wide variety of applications, from single-use devices, surgical instruments, implants, syringes and needles to ampoules, Petri dishes and diagnostic kits.
Our solutions are designed to work with the wide range of materials currently available to the industry, including Tyvek®, medical-grade paper and plastic films.
Integrity, traceability and processes under control
Following the entry into force of the current Medical Device Regulation (MDR), process validation has become a regulatory requirement. Our equipment is therefore designed to ensure package integrity, full batch traceability and control of critical process parameters.
To achieve this, we can integrate coding, labelling and vision systems, as well as Data Integrity solutions for monitoring and recording information associated with the packaging process. We also support our customers throughout their validation processes, providing assistance with the preparation of IQ and OQ protocols.
All with one objective: to develop a safe, reliable packaging solution tailored to the specific requirements of each application.
