ULMA Packaging to Showcase Advanced Packaging Solutions for Seafood at Seafood Expo Global 2026

Mar 17, 2026
ULMA Packaging will once again take part in Seafood Expo Global, the leading international event for the seafood industry, where it will showcase automation solutions focused on production efficiency and premium packaging quality.

21–23 April 2026 | Hall 3 – Stand 3EE601 | Fira Barcelona Gran Vía

At this year’s edition, ULMA will introduce new solutions aimed at high value-added applications within the seafood sector.

Flow Pack Line with FM 300 Wrapper and Vacuum Chamber for Fish Portions

The main highlight will be the presentation of a complete packaging line based on the FM 300 Flow Pack wrapper, combined with a vacuum chamber, designed for packaging fish portions.

This is a widely used packaging application within the seafood industry and typically involves a significant amount of manual labour, as manual bagging processes require high hermeticity, stable vacuum levels and consistent sealing quality.

The solution presented automates the bagging process following the salmon filleting flow, using an FM 300 Flow Pack machine combined with an automatic loading system on both sides of a conveyor vacuum chamber, eliminating manual handling while maintaining the necessary format flexibility.

This configuration provides significant operational advantages:

  • Format flexibility
  • High productivity
  • Reduced costs associated with manual handling and vacuum losses
  • Greater process safety and control
  • High sealing and vacuum quality
  • Optimised performance for high-volume production lines

The Flow Pack + vacuum integration represents an efficient and robust solution for producers seeking automation without compromising flexibility, and maximising productivity while maintaining high packaging quality.

TSA 875 Tray Sealer with Fast Skin™ Technology: Performance and Premium Presentation

This high-speed tray sealer is equipped with the innovative Fast Skin™ technology, capable of reaching up to 13 cycles per minute in skin applications, achieving performance levels comparable to modified atmosphere packaging (MAP).

The technology ensures impeccable sealing quality and premium product presentation, establishing itself as a benchmark in speed and efficiency for skin packaging on trays or flat boards, both in cardboard (LeafSkin) and plastic.

In addition, the TSA 875 incorporates the R-Skin™ system, which enables the use of lighter trays not compatible with traditional skin packaging systems, reducing material usage by up to 50%.

This is part of ULMAWeCare, ULMA’s sustainable packaging technology programme, which further enhances material savings through the CUT ONTRAY cutting system, capable of reducing top film waste by up to 30%.

Compact All-in-One Thermoformer (MAP, Skin, Vacuum): TFS 200 MSV

The TFS 200 MSV thermoformer has been designed to produce packaging in modified atmosphere (MAP), skin or vacuum.

Its versatility also extends to packaging materials, supporting base materials such as cardboard, laminated films and even mono-materials.

With its compact footprint and user-friendly operation, the TFS 200 MSV stands out as one of the most versatile thermoformers currently available on the market.

VTC 840 Continuous Vertical Bagger for Frozen Fish Portions

VTC 840.jpeg

This vertical packaging machine is equipped with Tight-Bag™ technology, a solution that removes air from the bags without perforating them, reducing pack volume by up to 20% without reducing the product quantity.

This innovation improves logistics efficiency by increasing pallet loading capacity by up to 20%, reducing operating costs and minimising environmental impact by lowering packaging waste.

The machine incorporates the latest technological developments in productivity, hygienic design and ease of operation:

  • Hygienic design allowing fast and efficient cleaning
  • Patented lateral format change system for quick and ergonomic adjustments
  • Sealflex™, a universal sealing system compatible with different sealing types and film structures
