ULMA Packaging at Interpack 2026: Integrated Automation and Future-Ready Packaging Solutions

Mar 24, 2026
Interpack is the world’s leading trade fair for the packaging industry, and at Hall 5 (Stand 5C23) ULMA Packaging will showcase its most advanced packaging technologies and fully integrated automation solutions for the most demanding industries, with a strong focus on hygienic design and Wash Down-ready equipment.

May 7–13, 2026 | Hall 5 – Stand 5C23  | Messe Düsseldorf

In today’s production environments, manufacturers require packaging systems that combine automation, sustainability, hygiene and operational reliability. ULMA Packaging responds to these challenges with robust, efficient and flexible solutions designed to protect product integrity while maximising Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Tray Sealing Technology: Present and Future Performance

ULMA Packaging presents both its current high-performance tray sealing capabilities and the next stage of its technological evolution.

ULMA introduces the new TSX 875 for Fast Skin applications as the first member of the future TSX generation of tray sealers. Specifically designed for high-performance Fast Skin packaging, it is capable of packaging at a speed of up to 13 cycles/minute, allowing production in skin applications to be increased by up to 30 %. This platform represents the technological basis of ULMA’s next-generation tray sealer range, conceived around greater performance, reliability, process control, efficiency and robustness.

The new TSX 875 also incorporates significant advances in sustainability and customer benefits. Using cut-on-tray technology, it allows up to a 44 % reduction in film trim on 1825 trays, compared to external cutting, reducing film consumption. Likewise, in combination with the R-Skin system, it enables a reduction of up to 20 % in tray costs by decreasing their thickness from 650 to 350 microns. Added to this is an almost twofold increase in film reel and trim autonomy, improving operational efficiency and reducing production stoppages.

Alongside it, ULMA demonstrates with the TSA 540 its established expertise in MAP and Skin applications, offering versatility, quick changeovers and reliable production performance. This solution will be completed with an integrated dosing, enabling precise portioning, a key requirement for ready meals. The TSA 540 combines a robust hygienic design with up to 21 cycles/min in MAP, making it suitable for medium-high production environments.

Vertical Packaging: Hygiene, Flexibility and Reduced Consumption

ULMA  presents the new VTC 840 WD vertical bagger, a Wash Down solution designed for fresh, frozen and sensitive products that require intensive cleaning.

In addition to its Wash Down capabilities, the machine has been designed to optimise efficiency in the use of resources, reducing electrical consumption by up to 20 % and pneumatic consumption by up to 30 %, while at the same time maintaining high performance levels.

The HMI offers advanced functionalities, such as an assistant for creating new programmes, OEE reporting, consumption measurement, recipe management, barcode reading for automatic programme changeovers… a whole variety of functionalities that help in the daily operation of the machine user.

The result is a vertical solution that combines hygiene, flexibility and lower operating consumption, contributing to improving the overall efficiency of the equipment and reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO).

Flow Pack Solutions for High-Speed and Wash Down Environments

ULMA displays advanced Flow Pack solutions for the most demanding industries.

On the one hand, it presents the FR 400 Twin, a high-performance dual-head Flow Pack solution equipped with a new automatic feeding system based on a linear motor. This technology enables independent and synchronized control of the product carriers, ensuring precise positioning, gentler handling and higher speeds compared to mechanical systems. Capable of reaching outputs of up to 85 m/min and up to 800 packs/min per line —up to 1,600 packs/min in dual configuration—, combined with the dual-machine concept of the FR 400 Twin, the result is greater flexibility, improved OEE and long-term operational reliability.

The FM 400 Flow Pack machine for High-Speed MAP applications incorporates a Long-Dwell sealing head capable of reaching speeds of up to 150 ppm while guaranteeing airtight seals. Its Wash Down-ready design, stainless-steel construction and minimum IP66 protection make it ideal for demanding hygienic environments requiring intensive cleaning.

High-Performance Thermoforming Technology: TFX Series

The new TFX thermoforming machine is featured as a benchmark of ULMA Packaging’s approach to hygienic design, performance and operational availability. Designed for demanding applications, the TFX series delivers high-quality packaging while enabling the use of sustainable materials.

Advanced technologies such as synchronised movements—boosting productivity by up to 10%—and an optimised vacuum system design that reduces cycle times by up to 20% contribute to a more agile, efficient and reliable packaging process, supporting high-volume production with consistent results.

Seamless Automation Across Complete Packaging Lines

ULMA Packaging presents fully integrated packaging lines covering the entire process, from primary packaging to end-of-line automation.

As part of this integrated approach, ULMA highlights its strategic collaboration with RAMA, strengthening its capability to deliver complete end-of-line automation solutions. Through this partnership, customers benefit from modular systems that can include case erectors, case packers, quality control systems, case closers and robotic palletisers, all engineered to operate as a single, optimised system.

One of the lines on display presents a fully automated secondary packaging process, covering automatic case forming, product loading, case closing and robotic palletising. This complete configuration demonstrates how ULMA and RAMA combine expertise to ensure smooth product flow, full traceability and optimised performance across the entire secondary packaging stage.

A second line features an automatic gravity case packing solution positioned downstream of a vertical packaging machine. In this setup, bags are automatically collated and gravity-fed into cases, creating a compact, mechanically simplified and highly efficient secondary packaging solution capable of maintaining high throughput while optimising floor space utilisation.
